2021 Korean Education Program for International Youth

The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea is pleased to announce the hosting of the 2021 Korean Education Program for International Youth, organized by the Korean Education Center in Thailand. We look forward to the active participation of students of middle and high schools and colleges, as well as Korean language teachers around the world.

Outline

  • Name of the Program: 2021 Korean Education Program for International Youth
  • Schedule
    • Preliminary training: November 20 (Sat) - 24 (Wed), 2021 (for five days)
    • Training: December 1 (Wed) –3 (Fri), 2021 (for three days)
  • Program platform: Online (via Zoom)
  • Participants: A total of 300 participants (i.e. students and teachers from 22 countries, including countries in the New Northern and New Southern Policy regions, as well as across Asia and Oceania)
  • Special Souvenir: All participants will receive a special souvenir, including a BTS-featured Korean textbook
  • Award: Two participants will receive an award granted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education of the Republic of Korea. Additional awards, such as an award granted by the Director of the Korean Education Center in Thailand, will also be presented.

Nov. 20 (Sat) - 24 (Wed) Preliminary training (Intensive training on Korean literature & culture; group-based projects) -Realtime Training (via live streaming) (about 4-6 hours per day) -Groups will be formed in consideration of the level of proficiency
Training Day 1 Opening ceremony (stage performance), orientation (group introduction) special lecture on Korean, at-home training, etc. Realtime Training (via live streaming)
Training Day 2 Contest of presentation on Korean literature, Korean language capacity-building (tailored training) Lectures (via exclusively available Youtube videos)
Training Day 3 Closing ceremony (award ceremony, stage performance), talk concert, special lectures on history/culture, and online historical/cultural site-visits, etc. Realtime Training (via live streaming)

Application

  • The application should be sent to the Korean diplomatic offices in the country of residence
  • Application documents: application form ‧ a letter of self-introduction ‧ consent for the provision of personal information - on a prescribed form. For download Form for Teacher and Student.

Deadline

November 10 (Wed), 2021

Notification of acceptance

Notification in the official letters will be sent to the Korean Education Centre in Malaysia and to selected applicants via their personal email.
