<WOWKOREA> Asia Middle East supporters is a travel promotion team, that travels all over Korea, discovers their own travel courses in Korea, and introduces them through their SNS accounts

Participants are appointed as supporters of the Korea Tourism Organisation for 1 year. Through activities that introduce various tourist destinations in Korea, participants can understand true Korean culture and further can grow as Korean travel experts.

  1. Participation in the launching ceremony is required
    • If you fail to attend the supporters' launching ceremony, you may be excluded from the list of candidates even after the supporters' selection is decided.
    • The supporters' launching ceremony is scheduled for the 29 or 30 of April
  2. Supporter's mission attendance
    • In this program, there are 4 field trips and more than 10 group missions.
    • In the case of supporter's activities, you must upload to your personal SNS account about 100 travel contents in total during one year.
    • If the channel you own has high influence and it is difficult to manage it uploading content, the channel you own can be excluded from the evaluation factor.
    • For the above reasons, if you create a new account and want to promote it, you may receive the lowest scores in the evaluation.
    • However, the YouTube channel is not reflected in the evaluation factor when it is necessary to open a new channel.
    • If you have multiple channels, you can upload content by dividing it. However, the same image and content cannot be duplicated.
  3. Pre-Mission Guide
    • For the pre-mission, only the content uploaded during the recruitment period is accepted.
    • If you applied with previously uploaded content, you will be excluded from the list of applicants.
    • Participating in the pre-mission be sure to include the phrase [2022 WOWKOREA Pre-Mission] in the title.
    • You can participate in the pre-mission as either an image or a video, but please upload an image content if it's possible.
    • In the post with the introduction text about the tourist destination please include information such as the place name and address of the tourist destination.
    • In the case of a copy of the tourist destination introduction text, the lowest scores will be given during evaluation.
    • Participating in the pre-mission please write only in English or Korean for evaluation. In the future, supporters will post in their local language.
    • Be sure to include #wowkorea #pre_mission in hashtags.

2022 Online Supporter Recruitment

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kuala Lumpur is now recruiting for the 2022 Online Supporters in Malaysia!

  • Anyone who is interested in promoting Korean culture and the latest news on the Embassy’s events are welcome to apply!
  • Social media influencers, i.e. YouTubers, Instagrammers, and Bloggers who are interested in creating Korean cultural content are encouraged to reach out to us for possible collaborations.

Details:

  • Activity period: April 18 - November 30, 2022
  • Promote and share announcements, activities, posts and events hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kuala Lumpur on your respective social media accounts, e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, blog, etc.
  • Create entries or content to promote the Korean culture and/ or events hosted or supported by the Embassy.
  • Online Supporters will be invited to events hosted by the Embassy of ROK in Malaysia
  • Accounts of supporters will be monitored based on creative entries, view counts and total reaches.
  • Online Supporters may be given individual or group tasks/ missions to create content to post on their social media accounts.
  • Outstanding supporters will be awarded in ceremony at the end of year.

The Korean Cultural Center in Canada is planning to hire temporary* administrative staff as follows, so we hope for a lot of support from those who are interested.

*Scheduled to work for 8 months (May 2022 - December 2022)

1. Recruitment classification and number of employees: 1 administrative staff (temporary)

2. Main tasks

  • Korea Week Event (May)
  • Ottawa Korean Film Festival (September) operation
  • Support for all cultural center events (performances, exhibitions, Korean food, etc.)
  • Cultural Lecture Operation
  • Preparing for the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Korea and Korea
  • Other Cultural Center administrative support, etc.

3. Qualifications

  • Who can legally work in Canada
    • Canadian Citizen
    • Canadian permanent residents
    • Those with a Canadian work permit who are already in Canada and can legally stay in Canada until the end of the working period
  • A person who has no grounds for disqualification from working at the Cultural Center (criminal history, etc.)
  • Proficient in various computer office programs and communication applications
  • Fluent in English (native speaker level) and Korean communication
  • Those who can work from May 2022, etc.

*Those who are fluent in French, those who can produce video, and those who can design promotional materials are preferred

4. Working conditions

  • Contract period: May 1, 2022 - December 31, 2022 (planned)
  • Working hours: Mon-Fri 09:00-17:00 (Break time: 12:00-13:00)
  • Location: Korean Cultural Center, Canada (150 Elgin Street, Ottawa, ON K2P 1L4)
  • Compensation: Base salary $2,926.00 CAD/month
    • *Payment of bonuses and other allowances in accordance with “Regulations on Administrative Staff of Cultural Promotion Offices of Korean Cultural Centers Abroad” and “Detailed Guidelines for Recruitment and Operation of Administrative Staff of Cultural Promotion Offices of Korean Cultural Centers Overseas”
  • Vacation: 1 day paid leave for 1 month of work

5. Typical (based on Eastern Standard Time (EST))

  • 1st round (document screening)
    1. Documents to be submitted: Resume, self-introduction letter (Korean), passport copy, permanent residence card copy (applicable person), work permit copy (applicable person), work experience certificate (applicable person), copy of language proficiency test score (applicable person)
    2. How to submit: Submit by email (canadahr@korea.kr).
    3. Submission deadline: April 11, 2022
      1. *Please write the email subject only with "Administrative staff (temporary) application, name, and phone number".
    4. Evaluation method: Written examination of candidate qualifications, conditions, and professionalism related to the performance of the job
    5. Caution: It is prohibited to write the applicant's gender, age, region of origin, family relationship, physical condition (height, weight, appearance, photo, etc.), and academic background in the resume and self-introduction letter.
    • However, in accordance with the regulations of the host country, the qualification for application must be limited to the above qualification requirements,
    • A copy of passport (required), copy of the permanent resident card (applicable person), and copy of work permit (applicable person) are included in the basic submission documents for application qualification verification.
  • 2nd round (interview): April 13, 2022. The video interview is conducted only for those who pass the document screening. Schedule and method to be notified individually.
    1. Evaluation method: Comprehensive evaluation of competence, such as job performance, language ability, and posture necessary for job performance
  • Candidates for Recruitment: One selected candidate for recruitment submits various additional documents for the final hiring approval process (separate notice).
  • Ties will be processed by: In order of each Judgment/Scoring Form entry. Those with a tie in the interview will be processed in the order of the evaluation score sheet, and if all items are tied, a re-interview will be conducted.

6. Other matters
